There’s sex in the news all the time, but this is a bit more newsworthy than most.  The Boston Globe has an article on polyamory. I think I know most of the people interviewed in it.

Circlet Press just released a paranormal romance with werewolves and zombies:

Janey Hyde is fighting to keep her people alive in a Manhattan ravaged by zombies. Seamus, the leader of a werewolf pack also on the island is doing the same. Will an alliance between them be the salvation of their tribes? Or is the intense attraction they feel for each other going to be their downfall? Exploring love, lust, war, and politics, ALPHA is the debut novel from writer Molly Maddox. Seamus’s pack isn’t ready to accept a human in their midst, and attracted to him as she is, Janey isn’t sure she’s ready to submit to an alpha male when it could undermine her authority with her own people. But there is more at stake than her pride and his principles, and only by working together will they find a future.

Zachary Jernigan, the host of Circlet’s next author chat, wrote “Only For Myself: Japan, 2043,” the kick-off story for my collection Up for Grabs. He has another story forthcoming in Wired Hard 4, which will be available in about a month. Zachary’s work has a touch of the strange that will remind you of the first time you got excited about science fiction. Be sure to join us at Circlet Press’s LJ Community.

About fifteen years ago I got a phone call from my little sister. She was in tears. She was alone in my parents’ house because they were on a vacation on a weekend when Dad came up on Operation Rescue’s list. They called the house to threaten Dad because he was a practicing obstetrician who would not sign their antiabortion pledge.

Dad was, and is, completely committed to womens’ health. He treated poor immigrant women for free, and for more years than I can count, he woke up in the middle of the night to see new life into the world. He was a comfort and a trusted confidante to the sick and the well.

And they dared threaten him.

Rest in peace, George Tiller. You will be missed.
